A fire broke out on Thursday 12th of February in the evening while all the children and teachers had been out on an exchange visit with other schools for an inter schools sports day.
The fire destroyed everything in the orphanage which has been operating for around 10 years, all the children’s food, clothes, shoes, teaching materials and even the water pump have been destroyed.

 

We urgently need to rebuild this orphanage because it is the only one in this area and all the children will lose out on the support they most desperately need and the older children will go back to the streets which they will have to call home.

This is a very scary time for us because the children will suffer a lot and the younger ones will be prone to sickness through various diseases that are around.

At the moment they are sleeping outside and in very bad conditions.
