As the Qurbani period approaches, we are reminded of our brothers and sisters in Gaza, many of whom are only able to access meat during this period.

This would be a unique opportunity to provide meat to some of the world’s most vulnerable people during their time of need. 

​

At FR, we have built a strong base within Gaza. We successfully distributed Tinned Qurbani meat to families who have lost everything.  

This year, we plan to do the same In Shaa Allah, but we need to place the orders early to allow the animals to be sacrificed and the meat tinned.

How does meat reach them? 

• Animal is sacrificed outside  

• Meat is divided and tinned 

• Tins are shipped into the needy families 

• If ordered in advance, Tinned meat reaches recipients on Eid days^ 

^ We recognise the ever-changing state of the situation in Gaza. Therefore, timeframes are approximate.

Why give Qurbani in Gaza? 

People in Gaza are experiencing severe food insecurity, with access to meat becoming increasingly rare. This has caused malnutrition and children to fall ill due to hunger. For many, Qurbani is the only time of year they can access meat. 

 

Alongside Gaza, we also distribute meat to Syrian & Palestinian refugees in Jordan/Lebanon.
