A big thank you to all the staff, volunteers, supporter and guests who helped organise and attended the "Medical Aid for Egypt" fundraiser over the weekend.
Working in Pakistan since before the floods, our work consists of new home construction for families who have been left with nothing after the floods, food aid distributions for remote villages, providing clean water to over 500 families and Eyesight Cataract Operations for those left blind.
Pakistan has recently been affected by violent earthquakes and floods, and has inefficient energy resources (such as natural gas) and insufficient power supplies.
The recent floods have left thousands of families in temporary accommodation, housed in tent camps, where infections and viruses spread very fast
Families Relief is building homes to allow families to start rebuilding their livelihoods. Provide a safe place for families to live and grow, while adults are able to recreate their livelihoods
We have so far built 50 new homes in Tehsil Kot Addu and District Muzaffargarh. Help us build another 100 homes this year
You can help create two types of homes: Iqbal Home (One 15x13ft room and one 4x6ft wash room); Jinnah Home (Two 12x12ft rooms and one 4x6ft wash room).
Each house costs approximately £1500 to build. You may donate an entire house, or a thirtieth share at just £50.

The floods have wiped out the plantations and vegetations of many villages, not only leaving the villagers without food, but also preventing them from getting back on their feet
Families Relief has initiated food distribution in the village of Tehsil Kot Addu and District Muzaffargarh
By giving a food parcel today you are bridging the gap between the health and nutritional to hundreds of people suffering from severe devastating malnutrition
Cataracts typically cause vision loss and are potentially blinding if untreated. The condition usually affects both eyes, but almost always one eye is affected earlier than the other
Approximately 570,000 adults are estimated to be blind as a result of cataract in Pakistan, and 3,560,000 eyes have a visual acuity of because of cataract. Overall, the national surgical coverage is acute with many individual unable to pay for the surgery to restore their eye sight
In partnership with Janat Aziz Eye Hospital, Families Relief wishes to sponsor 200 surgeries in the villages near Tehsil Burewala District
These surgeries will not only give sight to those blinded or partially blinded, but will also give them the opportunity to earn a livelihood for their families and dependents.
